Day Three - Clear Skies
Yesterday's clouds are finally gone! We had a weird temporary fluke with some intermittent rain and snow flurries, but that's behind us...for now. I've heard we'll be getting more snow tomorrow, though it's not clear how much.
I had to be out the door much earlier today for work, and I didn't get to leave any peanuts as a result, but when I turned my attention to the skies and the trees, it was once again very quiet. I'm sure I'll be seeing more birds once Spring arrives, but I do wonder where they go on days like these. Are they nestled up warmly or are they on the hunt? It's funny though, I find my eyes on the trees a lot more than they used to be. When you are fixated on something, when you have a purpose, you start to see things in a way you didn't used to. It's like the lens widens...or however you would word that.
And you start to see signs that reflect what you're currently occupied with, which is especially interesting. The book on crows I pulled from my shelf at random the other day at home, the feathers I've been finding near the sidewalk - even the ornamental crow statue perched on the mailbox I see when driving past on my way to work. Why the signs? I'll never understand how such little coincidences manifest. Are we hoping they'll appear, subconsciously waiting to see if they'll pop out? Or are they just elements of chance or fate? Life works in mysterious ways...
