Day Thirteen: A Calm Kind of Morning...Mostly
Not too much to report on today - I left peanuts out for the crows before I sat down for breakfast but sadly didn't see any (though I'm sure I heard some in the distance). Not long after I ate, I had to go outside and use the air compressor on my driver's side front tire because it was looking pretty flat (didn't even register on the air pressure gauge). I think the noise may have scared them away, haha. (Though, I did hear some songbirds while I was filling up?) I didn't get to stick around and see if anything would happen, and the majority of the peanuts were still there when I got home from work in the evening (save for a few or so, though that may have been squirrels). We'll see if they're around tomorrow! Meanwhile, I took out a book on birdwatching from the library today - I still haven't made up my mind regarding whether or not I want to feed ALL the birds or just commit to feeding the crows (which may well be less complicated and costly). I have a little while longer to decide that before I bring the feeders back to the store for a refund, I guess. That's about it for now, though.
Interesting crow fact of the day: did you know crows form family units and that the younger crows will stick around to aid in raising their parents' offspring?
